  • DO NOT DO THIS PROGRAM AT THE SAME TIME AS ROTATIONS LEVEL 2
  • MANY HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS RUSH THIS CONTENT. EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN ATHLETE ON A SCHOOL TEAM (8TH, FRESHMAN, OR JV) THEY MAY NOT KNOW THIS INFORMATION AND SHOULD TAKE THIS BEFORE ENTERING ANY OF OUR HIGH TOURNAMENT PROGRAMS
  • AGES: 12-16 
  • GENDER: BOYS AND GIRLS- TYPICALLY AT THIS LEVEL YOU HAVE THE RATIO OF 6 GIRLS: 1 BOY. BOYS GENERALLY GRADUATE OUT OF THIS PROGRAM AT 14 YEARS OLD
  • EXPERIENCE: 8 MONTHS FORMAL INSTRUCTION 
  • FORMAT: 5 TOTAL CLASSES FOR 1.5 HOURS EACH AND 1 3-4 HOUR TOURNAMENT
  • CAN I REPEAT: YES, MOST ATHLETES TAKE IT FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. WE GIVE THE ATHLETES THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET COMFORTABLE WITH NEW MOVEMENT PATTERNS AND ROTATIONAL JOBS.

PRACTICE GAMEPLAY

THE ATHLETES WILL DO DRILLS THAT WILL BUILD ON THE CONCEPTS OF THEIR ROTATIONS. THEY WILL HAVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES OF GAMEPLAY AT THE END OF EVERY PRACTICE.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

THE ATHLETES WILL PARTICIPATE IN A 3-4 HOUR TOURNAMENT. THE GAMEPLAY IS MODIFIED TO HELP THE ATHLETES BUILD CONFIDENCE. THE STUDENTS WILL BORROW A UNIFORM AND THE GAMES WILL BE SCORED. 

MODIFICATIONS: 

  1. IF AN ATHLETE MISSES A SERVE THEY CAN SERVE AGAIN
  2. THE COACHES CAN COME ON THE COURT IN BETWEEN POINTS TO HELP THE KIDS IF THEY GET LOST/ FORGET WHERE THEY SHOULD BE. (IN HIGH SCHOOL/ CLUB COACHES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE COURT)
  3. THE GAMEPLAY WILL NOT BE RUSHED TO ALLOW THE ATHLETES TO HAVE THE APPROPRATE MENTAL PROCESSING TIME
  4. THEY START THE NEXT GAME WHERE THEY LEFT OFF SO EVERYONE GETS EQUAL PLAY TIME. 

HOW TO KNOW WHEN THE ATHLETE IS READY FOR ROTATIONS LEVEL 2

  1. THE ATHLETE KNOWS WHERE TO MOVE WITH VERY LITTLE REMINDERS
  2. THE ATHLETE IS COMFORTABLE SETTING FROM THE BACK ROW IN THE TOURNAMENT
  3. MAJORITY OF THEIR PASSES ARE TO THE TARGET ZONE
  4. THE ATHLETE HAS A SOUND UNDERSTANDING OF THE ROTATIONAL POSITION, SERVE RECEIVE/SERVE POSITIONING AND DEFENSE OF EACH ROTATION,
