ACADIA NATIONAL PARK, Maine 鈥?A Bar Harbor man has been hospitalized and may face charges after accidentally shooting himself Tuesday night in the park, according to Acadias chief ranger.Jeffrey Malone, 27, was unloading a .22-caliber pistol at the Bear Brook Picnic <a href=https://www.cups-stanley.ca>stanley cup</a> Area around 8 p.m. Tuesday when the gun accidentally fired, Chief Ranger Stuart West said Wednesday. He was in the process of unloading it and somehow it became jammed, West said.As Malone sat in his parked van, trying to get the pistol unjammed, the gun discharged, firing a bullet through Malones right elbow, West said. No one else was in the immediate vicinity when the incident occurred, he said. Malone was able to call 911 and rangers quickly arrived at the scene.Ranger Richard Rechholtz said Malone was taken by ambulance to MDI Hospital in Bar Harbor, where he was treated and then released Tuesday night.Re <a href=https://www.stanleycups.at>stanley cup</a> chholtz said Malone did not have a concealed weapons permit, which is a requirement for anyone who brings a loaded weapon into the park.
