They were left in shock as it was revealed to them that the bride sought more dowry. The grooms family approached the police and the brides family was called to discuss the matter. PENOBSCOT AND ORLAND 鈥?Virginia B. Bridges, 100, passed away January 23, 2016 at Northern Bay Residential Living Center. Born November 19, 191 <a href=https://www.bru-mate.ca>brumate cooler</a> 5 in North Brooksville, ME., she was one of four children born to William and Olga  Steele  Carter.Virginia began working and caring for people at a young age and by choice, continued into her 80s. She met her husband, Luther F. Bridges, while working at Castine Hospital. After marriage she worked as a housekeeper in private homes in Castine. For 67 years Virginia lived in the home Luther built in Orland. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother, wonderful cook and grandmother, and life-time member of the Castine Grange and Eastern Star.Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband Luther in August 1971, and siblings, Florence Johnston <a href=https://www.bru-mate.ca>brumate</a> , Gertrude Gray and Harlan Carter and niece Rita Johnston.
