Pinewood Studios latest interim six-month results for the six months to 30 Sept were boosted by Star Wars: The Force Awakens and James Bond film Spectre.Year-on-year profit after tax was up 13.2% from 拢3.8m to 拢4.3m and group operating profit was up 186% from 拢2.5m to 拢7m.However, group revenue was down 0.7% to 拢38.5m.During the period, Pinewood raised 拢30m through the sale of 8,000,000 ordinary shares and raised n <a href=https://www.stanley-mug.us>stanley cup</a> ew banking facilities of more than 拢100m.Phase one of the Pinewood Studios Development Framework is to be completed by June 2016 within budget, while Pinewood Atlanta Studios Phase 2 development has been completed.The company also launched development of a full service production company in t <a href=https://www.cup-stanley-cup.ca>stanley cup</a> he Republic of Ireland.Commenting on todays results, Pinewood CEO Ivan Dunleavy said: The first six months of the year have maintained the positive momentum reported in our full year results in June 2015. Media Investment deal flow on behalf of third party clients remains weighted to the balance of the year. The construction of phase one of the Pinewood expansion, designed to meet strong demand, is on schedule for completion in June 2016 and is within budget. Panna Rittikrai, the action choreographer who introduced Thai action movies to worl <a href=https://www.stanleyusa.us>stanley usa</a> d audiences, has died aged 53.According to local press reports, Panna died from liver disease on Sunday in a Bangkok hospital. He had been battling illness since November 2013.Born in 1961 in Khon Kaen province, Panna started working in the Bangkok film industry in 1979 training actors to fight. After moving back to his hometown, he put together his own stunt team and started making action movies. He trained Tony Jaa and had a major hit in 2003 with Ong Bak, produced by Sahamongkolfilm.Directed by Prachya Pinkaew, Ong Bak introduced a new style of realistic, wire-free action choreography and put the Thai martial art of Muay Thai on the world map.
