The film, originally directed by Marco Risi in 2001, starts with three women from different social classes whose husbands disappear on New Year s Eve after a bank robbery. The story is a journey of love and self-discovery as the trio travel to Argentina to find their errant spouses.The remake is being set-up through Tollin/Robbins Productions, the youth-oriented production outfit behind Big Fat Liar, Varsity Blues and hit TV series Smallville, which boasts a deal with Paramount. Independent production house Primal Pictures, will produce and its principals Amanda Klein and Michael Nash take executive producer credits.The original Tre Mogli was produced by Raicinema and Sorpasso and represented by sales house Intramovies.
