The Royal Netherlands Air Forces KDC-10 tanker has been certified to refuel the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II following flight trials at Edwards AFB in California.The Dutch Ministry of Defence said this week that one of its two KDC-10 tankers, tail number 264, refuelled the fifth-generation combat jet for the first time on 31 March. The award will be presented Saturday, May 4 at a reception, 4:30-6 p.m. in Round Pond.Named for Frances Perkins of Newcastle, who served as labor secretary through all three terms of Franklin D. Roosevelts presidency, the biennial award recognizes Democrats who, over an extended period of time in their personal and professional lives in Lincoln County, exemplify Frances Perkins commitment to community service and dedication to Democratic ideals of fairness and equity.
