Major distributor DeaPlaneta has picked up Spanish theatrical rights to Nick Murphys supernatural thriller The Awakening from Studio Canal at the EFM.Murphys feature directorial debut is set in post-World War I England in 1921, and follows a skeptical woman who travels to a countryside boarding school to investigate rumours of <a href=https://www.stanleycups.it>stanley cup</a> a haunting presence.The cast is led by Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton. David Thompson is producing through his outfit Origin Pictures, alongside Julia Stannard and Sarah Curtis. BBC Films Joe Oppenheimer is executive producing, alongside Will Clarke and Jenny Borgars of StudioCanals UK distribution and production arm Optimum Releasing.This deal follows the announcement of DeaPlanetas other pick-up of Tomas Alfredsons spy thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, starring Colin Firth and Gary Oldman, also from Studio Canal.
