FOR REC IT ATHLETES WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY PARTICIPATED IN:

  1. INTRO TO TOURNAMENTS (AT LEATS 2 TOURNAMENTS)
  2. ROTATIONS LEVEL 1
  3. HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT

ATTIRE:

  • KNEEPADS REQUIRED FOR THE THIRD WEEK OF PRACTICE. DICK'S SPORTING GOODS HAS MANY SIZING OPTIONS
  • ATHLETIC CLOTHING- NO JEAN SHORTS
  • HAIR: UNDER CHIN LENGTH SHOULD BE PULLED OUT OF THEIR FACE
  • SECURE SNEAKERS (AVOID LIFESTYLE SHOES LIKE CONVERSE AND AIR FORCES IF POSSIBLE- WE FIND THAT MANY ATHLETES SLIP IN THESE SHOES AND GET FOOT PAIN- RUNNING OR VOLLEYBALL SPECIFIC SNEAKERS ARE RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

  • COMPLEMENTARY REC IT VOLLEYBALL T- SHIRT
  • PRACTICE FORMAT
    • SERVING FOR 15 MINUTES
    • 2-4 DRILLS PER DAY
    • AT LEAST 20-30 MINUTES OF GAMEPLAY EACH DAY

  • MECHANICS: SPOT SERVING, JUMP FLOAT, HITTING AROUND BLOCK,  SETTER IN BACKROW, BACKROW HITTING, SERVE RECEIVE, LIGHT ROTATIONS DRILLS, DIVING, PERIPHERAL VISION DEVELOPMENT
  • MOVEMENT: TRANSITIONING, SWING BLOCKING, COVERING HITTERS, CHANGE OF DIRECTION, SETTER PATHWAYS, DEFENSIVE PATHWAYS, HITTING APPROACH 
  • COMMUNICATION:  GAMEPLAY ENERGY PRODUCTION, PLAYING WELL WITH PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW
